Over the last several years, we've compiled common questions from students, teachers, and parents. Here are our answers!
Q: Is NYS Mathematics Regents Preparation affiliated with JMAP,  RegentsPrep, MathBitsNotebook, MathGotServed, MrKrauseMath, Khan Academy, or the New York State Education Department (NYSED)?
A:
NYS Mathematics Regents Preparation is an individually owned sole-proprietorships owned and operated by Trevor Clark, the founder of this website. NYS Mathematics Regents Preparation is not affiliated with any of the organizations and businesses listed above. Here are the following website names and hyperlinks shown below:
      JMAP (The Jefferson Math Project)
            Website: www.jmap.org
      RegentsPrep

           Website: www.regentsprep.org
      MathBitsNotebook
           Website: www.mathbitsnotebook.com
      MathGotServed
           Website: www.mathgotserved.com
      MrKrauseMath
          Website: www.mrkrausemath.com
      Khan Academy
          Website: www.khanacademy.org
      NYSED Regents
          Website: www.nysedregents.org

Q: Are all regents exams the same from year to year?
A:
Surprisingly, this is a very common question from students on our YouTube videos. Regents exams are never the same, but are very similar in style and types of questions asked. The NYSED will never duplicate a previously administered exam for a new administration of the exam.

Q: Is the instructor, Trevor Clark, a licensed teacher?
A:
As of 2021, Trevor Clark does not have a teaching license, nor is certified to teach students in New York State. Trevor graduated from Binghamton University, The State University of New York with a degree in Mathematical Sciences (B.A.). He then intends to move on to graduate school at Queens College, The City University of New York, and pursue his degree in the Master's of the Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education. The combination of these two degrees is approximately a 5 to 6 year process. Trevor expects to have both of his degrees and certification to teach by the spring of 2023.

Q: If Trevor Clark is not a licensed teacher, are students getting the right information in regents review videos and published documents?
A:
Trevor Clark graduated from Farmingdale High School in June of 2017, earning an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and mastery in both mathematics and science, as well as earning a Career and Technical Endorsement seal. He has taken all sequential courses at the honors level in Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, as well as Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus BC. He also has a degree in Mathematical Sciences. Overall, Trevor has the basic training necessary to deliver correct information in the subject of mathematics. On occasion, typos arise in study documents, and rare errors may be contained in regents review videos. If such errors arise, they are addressed and corrected. Students and teachers can trust this website and its creator. Trevor should not be discredited simply because he does not have a teaching license at this time.

Q: When will NYS Mathematics Regents Preparation expand its services into SAT, ACT, and AP Mathematics exams?
A:
The simple answer is this: we are not sure. Hundreds, if not thousands of hours are put into the development of this site every year. It's incredibly time consuming, and Trevor is the only one who does everything -- from video development to editing, to create study guides and custom clipart design. We intend to release SAT preparation by January of 2021. As for the ACT and AP math exams, we hope to have material published by June of 2022.

Q: Will NYS Mathematics Regents Preparation ever expand its services into regents preparation in subjects other than math, such as earth science, living environment, chemistry, physics, global history, US history, or English?
A:
NYS Mathematics Regents Preparation will never expand its services into these subjects. There are several reasons for this:
            1)  Expanding services into 7 additional regents level courses is impossible. Again, this organization is operated by one individual. It is absolutely impossible to expand our services into these subjects without the assistance of others.
            2)  Trevor is not comfortable, and is certainly not qualified, to teach chemistry, physics, or English; although he is comfortable to teach earth science and living environment. He did not majoring in any of those content areas and he has never taken a physics class in his life.
            3) A new brand name would be too costly. A new site domain, licensing and copyrights, and a new logo design would have to be purchased.
